Yucatan and the hammock

Yucatan, in addition to excellent cuisine, natural wonders and beautiful traditions… has magical creations, where our craftsmen left their essence and culture in each creation. One of the products of greatest interest is undoubtedly the hammock, an icon of our state.
Discovered by Conquistadors in the Antilles, Haiti from perhaps meaning ” tree”, because the favorite place to hang it between two trees, the hammock came to the Yucatan Peninsula in the fifteenth century and then the usual sleeping on it was adopted by the Yucatan, to make it a staple.
Made of a material principle characteristic of this land, sisal yarn, it took a long time before they develop with thread or crochet cotton to yarn made from nylon, as is done today.
Some believe that the hammock is of Polynesian origin, but so ingrained in our habits, we do not know if it really was brought or invented also in Yucatan.
The hammock is certainly an article to rest and relax. To use it requires some practice, especially if you have restless sleep.
I am pleased with the hammock

We bought two hammocks to the terrace of the apartment the beach. Now it is the reader to imagine me as a fat ( I am) and wealthy (I’m poor as a rat), owner (not me I have not myself ) spent a summer leisure sweet golden beach. Not exactly. The apartment is inherited from the father of my wife on a Mediterranean beach is more family and home ( far from the Ibiza style, for example) and summer are my leisure I can enjoy the extra pay during my vacation: reading, some rice, some beer and much touch my eggs. And I stay as I am.
Well, what was. We bought two hammocks because we had only a few plastic chairs as uncomfortable and not plan a nap on the deck with her ass resting on one of the damn chair and back straighter than in the military (who does not know which is the military, ask and pray to not have it, I know what I mean). The two beds we have purchased in a china shop, and made to extravagance, we’ve even bought paths mats, or something soft to lie on.
And hey, you should have seen how happy I was and am with my hammock and my first nap properly. And look how disturbs me that while the world collapses around me and the future is spotted black as the soul of a banker, I am content with letting me down on a hammock made in China plastic grateful the sea breeze, the calm afternoon and the silence broken by a child’s laugh and damn barking dog neighbor to see if they put a muzzle fuck up, pussy, that’s enough.
Rest on the beach and lying in a hammock

A break on the beach is really relaxing, but a break on the beach and lying in a hammock is an experience.
Can you imagine the white sand beaches of the Mexican Caribbean and the turquoise blue sea background in this magnificent postcard? Now imagine you there, enjoying a pina colada feeling the sea breeze, palm trees shadow and giving you the sound of the waves that brighten the moment.
Hammocks are very typical in this region, on the beach you can see them hanging from the trunks of palm trees or on the terrace of a house. Indigenous people use them to sleep because they are really cool and comfortable. Hammocks of all colors and sizes. You can find them on Fifth Avenue or the archeological sites as Chichen Itza, Tulum and many more where the artisans are those who sell them.
We invite you to visit the Riviera Maya, enjoy sun, sand and sea and what better than relaxing in a hammock.
